The Mombasa Ocean Festival, held at SwahiliPot Hub, brought together communities, organizations, young people, environmental advocates, and key stakeholders united by a common goal: protecting our oceans and promoting sustainable development.
We are proud that a member of the Mombasa Young Mothers team had the opportunity to participate in this important event. The festival provided valuable insights into ocean conservation, climate action, and the sustainable use of marine resources. It also created opportunities for learning, networking, and engaging with individuals and organizations working to build a healthier and more resilient coastal environment.
Throughout the festival, participants celebrated the beauty and significance of our oceans while reflecting on the shared responsibility of safeguarding marine ecosystems for future generations. Discussions highlighted the vital role oceans play in supporting livelihoods, preserving biodiversity, enhancing food security, and driving economic growth.
For Mombasa Young Mothers, the experience reinforced the importance of ensuring that young mothers and young women are actively included in conversations and initiatives that shape a sustainable future. By equipping communities with knowledge, skills, and opportunities, we can all contribute to environmental stewardship and meaningful change.
As we continue our mission of empowerment and community development, we remain committed to supporting efforts that promote sustainability, resilience, and collective action for a better tomorrow.
